@Mik said in Kewl (?) airplane video of the day: Been on landings like that. Applause for the pilot when he gets it down safely. Yep. Was on an Air Canada flight where a lot of the overhead bins came open and luggage was flying across the cabin, as the pilot fought to get it down.

@Mik said in Macy's Thanksgiving Parade - now for adults only: Considering they are not something I’m thankful for, well, no. Decent metric.

@Horace said in Hey Mik: @Mik said in Hey Mik: @Horace said in Hey Mik: If this is the "what's for dinner" thread, today I used my Traeger pellet smoker to smoke a steak. Pleased, very, with the results. No sear, but awesome flavor. Took about 20 minutes on the highest temp, which was a reported and probably optimistic 475. I used hickory wood pellets, which made it reminiscent of bacon. Next time I'll use mesquite. I think the sear is overrated in importance. Have you ever smoked a rack of lamb? Scrumptious. Nope but I will. That's a favorite. It is soooo much better smoked.

Kennedy's first initial was 'J'. The man who wrote the famously macabre poem The Raven, and many other supposedly fictional works about death had the Christian name Edgar. In England we call something that vacuums away all the evidence of wrong-doing a Hoover. Coincidence? You be the judge.

@Mik said in Tinnitus Treatment?: I have quite a bit - as we speak even - but it generally doesn't bother me. It's just there. Yup, I also have it. I don't notice it unless I'm in a very quiet room or if"tinnitus" is mentioned -at which point I go "oh yeah. There it is."

Don't know about the starvation angle, but it may well have sparked a guerilla war after any peace treaty was signed.

https://www.pcmag.com/news/google-pays-apple-36-of-its-safari-browser-search-ad-revenue It has been revealed that Google pays Apple 36% of the revenue it generates from search advertising through the Safari browser. As Bloomberg reports, the revelation came from Google's own economics expert, University of Chicago professor Kevin Murphy, during his testimony at the Justice Department’s antitrust trial. Google's main litigator, John Schmidtlein, "visibly cringed" when Murphy revealed the percentage. This substantial percentage of revenue confirms the high price parent company Alphabet is willing to pay to ensure the Safari browser ships with Google as the default search engine. The antritrust proceedings already revealed that the company pays $18 billion a year to be the default search engine on Apple's devices. Now we know Apple also gets a chunk of the ad revenue from this browser deal.

@Horace said in Horace's Pickup: My next vehicle will definitely not be a sedan. But I think I will go with a large SUV. I rent them whenever I need a rental, and they are so much more comfortable for me. The odd piano haul will be a bonus. Link to video
